Sam works closely with WIW clients, concentrating on the preparation of their wealth management plans and working to develop effective tax strategies. He also manages ongoing operations and coordinates the unique WIW coaching program for emerging wealth, which focuses on educating and mentoring younger adults on the financial impacts of decisions made in the early and middle stages of their careers.
Previously, Sam worked as a financial advisor in the Wigand Group at Merrill Lynch Wealth Management. Prior to joining Reini at Merrill Lynch, he worked for three years as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the Assurance Practice at PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Sam was engaged to serve both public and private clients in a wide array of industries, including Real Estate Investment Trusts, Oil and Gas Partnerships, Mining, Agriculture, Private Equity, Financial Services, and Multi-National Food and Beverage. Like Reini, Sam has demonstrated a commitment to financial education. He received a Bachelor of Science in Accounting in 2014 and his Masters of Accountancy in 2015 from Colorado State University and went on to earn his CPA designation. In 2021 he completed the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification.
Sam has been nationally recognized for his philanthropic involvement in the Denver Community. As the former Chairman of the Denver Ducks Unlimited Committee, Sam led a committee of community professionals in organizing one of the largest Ducks Unlimited fundraising events in the world, having raised over $2.7M during his tenure as Chairman. He now serves as a member of the Finance Committee and Investment Sub-Committee for the national Ducks Unlimited organization. Sam is also pleased to serve on the Board of Directors for Outfitters for Christ, an organization devoted to experiences, tools, and resources that equip at-risk youths for a successful journey through life.
Sam, his wife Sarah and daughter Leighton live in Arvada, Colorado. Outside the office, Sam is passionate about how hunting and fishing can engage people of all backgrounds to enjoy and protect the outdoors and the wildlife that defines it. Throughout college, Sam worked as an elk guide and ranch hand near Steamboat Springs where he was afforded the opportunity to show guests from across the country the beauty of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Sam and Sarah enjoy spending weekends at the ranch where Sam still loves to work and guide.
